The investment management staff is as follows:
Robert L Morgan, CFA, President, joined the firm in 2008
after serving as Senior Vice President and Investment Strategist
for Janney Montgomery Scott. Rob began his career in the asset
management business in 1989 and was Chief Investment Officer for
Fulton Financial Advisors, Dearden’s parent company, from 1999
to 2003. Rob received his BS in Mathematics as well as his MBA
in finance from Vanderbilt University and began his career as a
US Naval officer, serving in the submarine force from 1984 to
1989. Rob is a member of the CFA Institute through the
Financial Analysts of Philadelphia, and he appears on CNBC, Fox
Business News, and Bloomberg TV and radio once or twice a week.
Alexander A. Maguire, CFA, Portfolio Manager,
specializes in retirement fund management and has enjoyed long
relationships with numerous financial institutions, bank trust
departments and individual clients. He shares responsibility
for the firm’s common stock investment policy as well as
individual equity selection. Together with his partners, Alex
has
been instrumental in adding $1 billion to Dearden, Maguire,
Weaver and Barrett’s asset base since the founding of the
current firm. Alex received his B.A. in mathematics as well as
an M.B.A. in Finance from Temple University and began
his career as a commercial bank investment officer. He joined
Dearden and Greene, a predecessor to the current firm,
in 1971 and became a founding partner of the current company in
1981. Alex has been a CFA charter holder since 1973.
He is a member of both the CFA Institute through the Financial
Analysts of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Securities
Association and is one of the co-founders of Delancey Capital
Group, a minority owned Philadelphia based investment
counseling firm that manages assets for large public and private
institutions.
Patricia E. Keegan, Senior Portfolio Manager, directs
investments for high net-worth individuals, institutional
clients and
bank trust departments. In addition, she is the firm’s primary
manager of funds for non-profit organizations. Tricia has over
eighteen years of experience in the asset management profession
and actively contributes to both equity and fixed income
research and investment selection. She began her career at
Salomon Smith Barney and joined the firm in 1990, working
specifically in the fixed income area. In 1992, she became an
equity analyst, augmenting her fixed income expertise, and
evolved into a senior portfolio manager. Tricia is the editor of
the firm’s monthly publication, Capital Markets Outlook,
and authors the equity component of this publication on a
quarterly basis. She also delivers speeches on the capital
markets to several of our institutional clients, utilizing the
educational skills she acquired via a B.A. in English from
Rosemont College
and a B.A. in Theater from Villanova University in 1987. Tricia
is a member of the CFA Institute through the Financial
Analysts of Philadelphia.
Timothy Deery, Senior Portfolio Manager, joined the firm
in February 2008. Prior to joining Dearden, Tim managed
portfolios for high-net worth clients. He moved his book of
business from his previous employer to Dearden. He is active in
the firm’s investment selection process and has vast experience
in building both equity and fixed income portfolios. Tim
received his B.A. in history from the Pennsylvania State
University and began his career as a financial consultant with
Smith Barney in Lancaster, PA. He moved into portfolio
management in 2000 with Fulton Financial Advisors. In addition
to the Series 65 (Investment Adviser), Tim possesses the Series
7 and 63 brokerage licenses.
